Construction projects seem to take forever. Boston’s Big Dig required 13 years of tedious jackhammering before it was completed. After a devastating fire, the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris is in its third year of renovations while tourists gaze wistfully at the fabled structure from behind barricades.
At Furniture Consignment Gallery, we understand and share the frustration of construction woes. FCG’s newest store in Burlington, our fourth location, seems as if it has been under construction for a long, long time, as well. We started renovations a year ago!
The good news: we’re getting close to opening day. After months of annoying delays, the store is a beehive of activity. Plasterers, painters, electricians, and other members of the building trades are working tirelessly to get the store ready for you.
Meanwhile, we’ve been accumulating an extraordinary collection of the finest pre-owned furniture, lamps, and accessories in New England. Our goal is a consignment store that will dazzle you. Over the next two weeks, we’ll be bringing in and arranging those furniture pieces and accessories in ways that will inspire you to create the home of your dreams.
Our new Burlington staffers have been training for months, working with our experienced team in Natick. They are a crackerjack team now ready to provide our unique brand of customer-friendly service.
Burlington’s manager is Mike, an experienced retailer who has been on board since early spring. Brian, his assistant, will join the team after his wedding this weekend. Ellen is our lead salesperson; she’s been in the furniture industry for years. You may even see some of our longtime employees from our three other stores there. They’ll be visiting regularly to jumpstart the new store and help instill our culture into our newest store.
We know you’ve been waiting patiently. Your question: what’s the opening date? My answer: as soon as the store is fully stocked and city officials approve our renovations. We’re just as anxious as you but it’s only a few weeks away. We’ll let you know as soon as we are ready to open those doors.
